Rosemary for Remembrance? Funny that. I have yet to see anybody wearing a sprig of Rosemary on Remembrance Sunday.

My question was clearly expressed and quite specific and you've dodged it.
I do bang on (your phrase) about lesbian & gay rights, largely because few others do, and because it needs doing inho. Howwever I didn't start this thread and many others have contributed positively so it's not just me.
I was interested to see that you also have not responded to the question about why you respond to this issue so much.

I see that Mr and Mrs Bull's appeal to the Supreme Court has been dismissed - confirming that a religious belief does not allow a service provider to discriminate on the grounds of sexual orientation .
Baroness Hale made the striking point that no more would it be lawful for a gay couple to refuse a room to Christians.

Originally posted by ahinton View PostI'm struggling to do so as well but I can only deduce, rightly or wrongly, that the so-called "Festival of Remembrance" as it is currently constituted takes precedence over Shakespeare in the mind of our Mr Peem which apparent fact surely speaks eloquently, though equally sadly, for itself...
Let me try and explain; if I could do it in words of one syllable, I would so so, but I will at least try and keep it simple for you:-
Amateur's predictable little dig was targeted at me because I am still showing a Poppy picture as my avatar; as he, and you, Al, very well know, I added said avatar in the run-up to Remembrance Sunday, as a result of Mr. GG's disrespectful and border-line offensive thread on that subject. At no point in said thread was there a mention of Ophelia, Shakespeare, or Hamlet. Am51 shoehorned in his reference to rosemary for reasons that escape me. I simply pointed out that rosemary is not the preferred symbol of remembrance. It is the poppy.
Got it now?Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.

I'm not going to comment on MrGG's contributions to that thread beyond stating that I see no reson for direct insults being hurled at other members.
The fact that, in that thread, there was no "mention of Ophelia, Shakespeare or Hamlet" is neither here nor there and makes no difference to the validity of that reference. Am51 typed it; he had no need of a "shoehorn" for that purpose and didn't use one. The fact that, by your own admission, the reasons for it (the reference, that is - not tthe shoehorn) escape you clarifies beyond doubt that you have no explanation to provide, so let us return to the subject - one in which you have identified that your interest is so lacking that you didn't even appear to know or care what LGBTI stands for and in which your alleged interest has accordingly been questioned more than once by more than one member - while you continue to push your water uphill.

Quite frankly, Al, if you don't even know the difference between the Festival of Remembrance and the Sunday event at the Cenotaph, you have no business commenting on the subject.Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.
