    Thanks, Pab ... I look truly gorgeous, don't I ? (if suitably perplexed)

    No, I'm afraid it's not recent, it was one taken in my much better-looking days before that idiot Darwin came on the scene. :winkeye:

        Avatar photos have an inverse relationship with the beauty of the boardster. For example, I sport the mug of an ugly trout-fish and Pabs has a photo of a handsome young man (I can't believe it's not better).

          Very droll. You are obviously much too young to remember the adverts where a best friend (!) turns to one and whispers "B.O."

            Sadly I'm old enough to remember those ads!

            My favourite was the one where the young woman in the pub is chalking the darts scores and joins the 1 to the 30 (of a 130 score) to read BO!

            They don't make ads like that any more!

              No they don't.

              * I recall this!

                The much-lamented George Butterworth, I do believe.

                  George Sainton Kaye Butterworth (or Kaye-Butterworth as he was at school and in the army). Had he lived though WW1, he might well have died in the 1960s, or even 70s.

                    Scotty

                    The gorillas I see every week sit around quietly in their family and don't express themselves much ( hint! hint! )

                      Yes, hence my 'cant believe it's not better' (butter) comment.

                        Careful, you look like you might be catching ahinton's ponderous pun disease.

                          Sadly, some gorillas can be just as dumb as humans, ferret ...

                            So long as it's not terminal.

                              Punderosity.

                                He might, I suppose - but he needn't worry; far from being terminal, it's rather like 24-hour 'flu, really - sickening while one's afflicted but swiftly over and done with unless and until one might have the misfortune to catch it again...
