But you're overreacting. I for one have never assumed your Catholic faith is arrived at and sustained without the involvement of reason.
That's why I think it's worth encouraging you to take the application of reason a little further, rather than giving you up as a lost cause.

As pabs's link shows, people are well aware of the fact that some people, more than others, are simply nervous about appearing as witnesses and display an anxiety that they will be disbelieved. A judge will give some directions to the jurors as to what they should consider. And among twelve jurors I imagine there will be some who are just suspicious of a witness who insists on hiding her facial expressions and 'demeanour'.
Juries make mistakes - the nature of the beast. I don't know what the statistics are of those who convict when they should acquit as against those who acquit when they should convict. Impossible to establish, I suppose.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
