Actually, I think I'd rather leave as well. so if FF can close my account I'd be obliged. Next action will be to drop all knowledge of the PCA thread.

But you don't read the content - you just sit in sniper's alley, poking fun when you can.Too much time on your hands, I reckon.

I can never understand people who flounce, rather than just stop posting. I couldn't bear not to know what was being said after I'd gone.

Well, they've each left of their own respective volition, so it's up to them, I guess.

Mr Pee, however, is still with us and still evidently getting uptight at almost every mention of The Guardian as though it's the only newspaper ever read or quoted by members here who espouse a different world view to his own...

No, it was a quite different individual - just a coincidence of names !

It makes a point, publicly. This board is visible to the public/visitors, just a bit harder to find!

I'm just wondering whether the board will become less popular in the absence of all the bloodshed. I hope you noticed that I got most of the flak ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Well, I did, but I fail to understand why or on what grounds...

Er - no; far be it for me to suggest that anyone goes or even that they might do so of their own volition...

I think it is appalling that the massacres of Christians ... not just in the place you mention but in the Middle East as well ... has largely gone unreported in the UK. The media here seems much more concerned about 'women's rights' in Saudi Arabia or 'gay rights' issues in Russia. Christians are not reckoned to be part of the modern 'cool culture', so are simply ignored.

However, it is unhelpful to lump all religions together as if these were all the same. Christians, for example, generally don't go around calling for others to be beheaded, at least not these days. Thou Shalt Not Kill is a clear intruction as part of that faith. If it is broken it is the people who are at fault not the religion.

I'm sure you'll agree that many of these conflicts in the east are as much tribal as religious ... the same is even true closer to home in Northern Ireland.

Surely most 'ordinary' people of any religion ( or none) just want to live in peace and get on with their lives? Mobs taking to streets do not necessarily represent the overwhelming majority of all peoples in all countries who do not. They (the majority) are probably far too busy simply trying to survive at home.
Possibly a little late in the day (but you never know, scotty may return, modern-day Resurrection style) there was an interesting piece of the BBC's number-crunching programme More Or Less on BBC World Service recently, exploring the oft-repeated statistic that there are on average 100,000 Christians killed worldwide because of their faith each year..

It's only 11 minutes long and well worth listening to.
