Watford Residents Need Passports to Access Own Homes

It seems residents in Watford are having to show their passports (or other ID) to G4S security and police in order to access their own homes while the infamous Bilderberg Group meets in a local hotel during 6-9 June .

The Bilderberg group's meeting will receive greater scrutiny than usual as journalists and bloggers converge on Watford

There's a certain amount of black humour in this story in a similar vein. Perhaps they will also fly in some celebrities with expensive cars to complete the illusion of prosperity.

Anyone remember that story about when Prince Philip visited a rundown area of Liverpool - iirc it was in the 1970s - and the council spent ratepayers' money on doing up derelict frontages of just the part of the street he was visiting?
