Horribly tragic for everyone. But although I think a vaguely religious person could convert to Islam, I don't see how they convert to being a militant Afghan tribesman out for revenge on soldiers. This murderer's rant about women in 'our country' (he's British of Nigerian origin) suggests he had little concept of the Taliban's treatment of women. Tragically deluded, it seems.

I think you may find thsat anyone who has worked with or for Jack Straw will be happy to vouch for him as a very decent, intelligent man who exhibits far more integrity than many politicians in these times manage. And given his experience in Government, of course, he might just perhaps know a few more of the facts about our security situation than some on here... :smiley:

That might be possible
but given the record of his government (and the rest of the political establishment) it's hard to have any faith that these "facts" (WMD anyone ?) are really true ?

Can I say this is one of the more sensible posts on this thread? Totally deluded, possibly schizophrenic perhaps? I wouldn't be surprised, when it comes to trial, that mental health issues play a big part.
