I leave that to others to make up their own minds and comments regarding such behaviour, as indeed some have already done here, and I expressed my appreciation for that. I have sometimes referred to personal abuse in place of constructive debate.

I've never suggested anyone who disagrees with myself must be 'a violent anarchist' or member of the 'hard left'. I would certainly never describe Simon as such.

I may be guilty of many things and undoubtedly have many personal faults, but your accusation that I 'bully' others on this forum is really just too silly for words.

I don't think anyone 'bullies' anyone here. I do think that in a discussion both sides are allowed to continue to disagree, regardless of whether it's five a side or nine against one: the strength of the arguments should be fairly obvious.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I'd say you twist and writhe in your corner....ever facing your opponent(s), jabbing, light on your feet [the feet of your mind] stinging like a bramble ....taking punishment, and coming back for more (like Rocky in reel 5 of all Rocky films) <cue eye of a tiger> etc etc blaa blaa....:ok:

Well, you were seeking to portray Simon as a victim of "personal abuse" when all some of us were doing was asking him to define his terms (without which no reasonable debate is possible) and challenging his rather hectoring language.

And I'm sorry, Scotty, it is a form of intellectual bullying to refer to people as anarchists or hard left (or "extreme left" as you did) in such a wholly derogatory fashion, especially when you don't even know what the person's political philosophy is. Let's just assume that when someone expresses a negative view on, say, the actions of the Boston police, that happens to be what they think and not that they're fictitious anarchists seeking to undermine society, shall we? Until you or Simon do that you can never wholly avoid accusations of bullying.

Not convinced that's bullying. Rude, insulting, derogatory etc depending on your view, but it doesn't add up to bullying.

There's plenty of intellectual bullying that can be cited, but not from Scotty.
