    Derisive snort thing.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

      Too much? Not enough?
You get a third off for good behaviour so they'll serve just over 5 months - that's not a lot. Jonathan Aitkin in a recent article said anyone who's been to public school will find prison very similar, so it's not hard. Vicky Pryce should have elected to go for the traditional form of revenge - cutting one arm off his suits and distributing his wine cellar to the neighbours.
As they both brought this on themselves shouldn't they be billed for the total legal/police costs involved?

They've probably been given identical sentences to avoid the risk that they might try to swap them with one another...

I would have seized all their financial assets, and made them go and work in an asda warehouse on half wages for 10 years.
And then another ten years. And made them live in a REALLY crap area, in REALLY crap flats. A long way up in a tower block.
And banned them from selling their memoirs/writing articles in the press/ getting paid consultancy work of any kind.

The establishment really do like taking the whotsit out of us. It think its a big part of their entertainment.

Oh, come on! Firstly, you'd be unlikely to be able to seize all their financial assets. Secondly, what's Asda ever done to deserve such a fate? Thirdly, what are the "wages" + bonuses of Asda's CEO anyway? You can't make anyone live anywhere, except in prison if they're given a prison sentence. And you can't ban anyone from publishing memoirs, articles or anything else; you'd have to try to ban the publishers from publishing them. The same goes for paid consultancy work; you'd have to ban anyone from paying them to do any.

Much as I do not condone the kind of behavior for which either has been responsible, I do not see that there's any point in handing out draconian sentences to either of them; if one did, what kinds of sentence might you deem appropriate for child abuse, rape, murder et al? As it is, the taxpayer will in any case have fully to fund the police and judiciary's involvement in the matter as well as the prison accommodation and services for the duration of their respective sentences.

                    Thank you kindly!

I forgot to mention, however (since the "entertainment" aspect of this charade's been referred to), the well-known Q&A "And what do points mean?" - "Pryce's!"

perhaps that is a bit much for being too nice, but if you are ever as naughty as chris n vix..........

Whatever kind of mind do you have?! I'd thought that your proposals for that Bonnie & Clyde couple Huhne & Pryce were stringently punitive enough, but...

Well, I'd better make sure that I'm not, then - or at least that you haven't become a Supreme Court judge by the time I get charged with having beeon so!...

in my line of work, there is plenty of time for creative thought , behind the wheel !
Actually, a career change to Supreme Court Judge seems like a good idea, now you mention it.....
