America, land of the free...Real Doublethink, right now. Orwell knew more than can be coincidence...
The NDAA's section 1021 coup d'etat foiled
And with regard to the NDAA 2013, approved by the House of Representatives on Thursday, none of the big news outlets is reporting it yet, so I have to go non-mainstream. As well as once again codifying the indefinite detention of American citizens without trial, the NDAA 2013 also paves the way for a war with Iran:
NDAA is authorization to go to war with Iran
When a country starts passing laws like the NDAA 2012 and 2013 it's already too late to step back from the brink of a police state, despite Naomi Wolf's somewhat optimistic assessment of the court ruling this week, particularly when you consider that these laws use legalise that's deliberately designed to confuse citizens about the real nature of them.
America has been a basketcase for sometime now. My main concern is that the UK is going exactly the same way. The first step, of course, is that the government keeps citizens in the dark about what's really going on, and that starts with control of the media, and then trying to control the flow of information on the internet.

Two points re Budapests #20
1. It really is madness to rely for your news sources on supposedly unbiased and reputable sources like the BBC. They do a good job of looking unbiased, but in truth, they report the stories that government want reported...because those are the stories they are fed.
for clarification watch out for the lead story on BBC news each day. Usually based on a press briefing or report that the government want out there, usually to scare us with.
2. I am very wary of the real agenda behind the digital revolution. As you suggest, contol of the internet is just a step away. And when everything is digital, (books, news, information, radio etc)we are just a button flick away from really big trouble.
we would b very well advised to hold onto whatever non digital stuff we can, because control of digital is just too easy for people with bad agendas.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

An armada of US and British naval power is massing in the Persian Gulf in the belief that Israel is considering a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons programme.
on the google news listings this comes well beneath the british soldier having a baby, and news about One Direction's new single.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

its a comment about the world we are living in...dominated by interests who want (YET ANOTHER) was, and who have the media in their pockets.
We need to do what little we can to stop this nonsense.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
