She is on record as having to apologise to the House of Commons for failing to reveal earnings from the BBC and has also made comments which, by any poltically-correct yardstick, were clearly 'racist'. Harriet Harman & Tristram Hunt are two others of the Faux-Left who immediately spring to mind, when it comes to private wealth and education.

I'm genuinely surprised some attempt to defend these politicians who say one thing for the hoi-polloi and do the exact opposite themselves. Btw, I'm not suggesting there are no hypocrites on the Right ... of course there are, and we all are to varying degrees ... it's just that it's very hard to find one on the Right when it comes to political viewpoint and associated behaviour!

That's not meant to be in any way complimentary merely a statement of the pretty obvious, I'd have thought ...
Are you saying that in contrast with those who would, under a fairer more egalitarian system, have to sacrifice their own privileges to accord with their stated principles, under the status quo that you seem to support uncritically, privilege is privilege's own justification?

In what way have either of them ever laid claim to being of the Left? I don't recall either of them having done or said anything that would give that impression. Neither of them has as far as I'm aware (your words) "continually told others that if a family member is ill they should wait in a NHS queue for treatment." Neither of them has "demanded that there should be no private education for others but send their own kids to fee-paying schools." And even if they had done those things I really don't think either of them claim to "espouse socialism". So unless you know otherwise we're back to Diane Abbott being the only member of this mysterious faux-Left fraternity/sorority. Strange considering they're supposed to have such influence.

I know someone who does.

Conservative peer Baroness Jenkin has apologised for saying "poor people don't know how to cook".

I'm not sure I understand the concept at all.

but assuming that I do, for a moment, is it matched by Faux right thatcherist council house purchasers ?

It's true though. Have you peered in the manual-classes' trolly in the local Asda?

I know I have. All poor value ready-mades.

And what is the evidence that this (supposing it's true) means the people in question "can't cook"?

I would imagine a lot of Cameron and Farage's chums, and possibly they themselves, also "can't cook" because they've never had to...

My most recent brilliant business idea is supermarket trolley based.

You know how other people's trolleys always look so much more interesting...Prosecco, sides of Salmon, exotic cheeses, artisan bread....

well they could do great business by replicating the old "Christmas hamper " system (they always looked tempting) by having ready filled trolleys, so that if you were feeling flush you could go for a " bubbly and organic" style mix, or if you were feeling a bit faux left, you could go with one with a decent sprinkling of everyday value stuff.. Take all the strain out of it too.

And how influential would you say Billy Bragg is? About as influential as the straw man this "faux-leftists brainwashing everyone" rhetoric amounts to.

I know the people that I see can't cook, but I can't prove it with evidence.

Just like you know the sun will rise tomorrow, but you can't prove it to me.

Have I perchance stumbled into a Key Stage 1 Sophistry lesson? Of course I can prove to you that the sun will rise tomorrow. It just requires an explanation of the relevant physical laws as applied to the objects in question, viz. the sun and the earth.

Returning to Billy Bragg for a moment, how influential would you say he is?

replicating the old "Christmas hamper " system
I've got some 'working class' cred in that my grandfather (b. 1880) was a foreman toolmaker for Lucas...a big car-component manufacturer in the Midlands. He retired with a good pension, continued use of the factory's social and sporting facilities and....a fine Christmas hamper, delivered every year until his death; actually every year until my grandmother's death (she outlived him). This was capitalism at its (admittedly paternalist) best.
