When the usual suspects suddenly (and quite predictably) enter the fray when the main contenders are bowing out one knows it's time to call it a day.

Tbh, I'm getting more and more convinced that amateur51 is actually someone's pet parrot ... :-)

What I do or do not read and the "properness" of my doing either does not and cannot influence this "Forum sanity" and/ orites preservation - that said, the very fact that i do read such posts properly is what revelas to me when goalposts are being moved and how and by whom, even if not always for precisely what purpose.

The point is that there are differences of opinion about school uniforms in Germany just as there are elsewhere and, in view of this, a slavish adherence to some kind of fabricated "tradition" in the wearing of such things as a means of seeking to justify its recommendation is far from universal. That said, you have made it clear that you do support the wearing of school uniforms, even though you now appear to be trying to extricate yourselof from so dogmatic a standpoint.

Who's this "us", then? I do check it accurately, insofar as what's posted is in itself accurate; for the rest, see above.

Indeed so - and they don't all share the same view about school uniforms but they would likely have a more informed idea about the wearing of such things in that country than you appear to exhibit!

...or perhaps today's Catalan one (but let's not go there other than in another thread on that topic which has yet to be started!); no one has yet mentioned anything about the wearing of school uniforms in Spain anyway...

Leaving aside whom you might believe "the usual suspects" to be or, indeed, of what they are supposdly suspected, might one interpret your offer "to call it a day" as a promise or am I being unduly optimistic?

Regardless of what you might be convinced of - or indeed of the reasons, if any, why you might be so convinced - you omit to reveal whether or not you believe that said "pet parrot" wears a school uniform...

It's not possible (for the OP). There have been times in the past when people have wangted to make changes to the title of a thread they've started, but haven't been able to; I think it's the hosts who can change it.

                      Amateur51 doesn't need to ...

I think it is possible, but you have to go into Advanced mode. The OP can change up to about 2 weeks after posting.
