If indeed UKIP does end up fielding considerably more candidates, it might well upset the balance so that the likelihood of any party forming a majority government becomes even less that is appears to be now. That's whaty I imagine the UKIP effect to be next May.
Yes, the notion of a 'no winner' general election is predicated on the UKIP fielding a large number of candidates and winning seats.

You mention the Green Party. It will be interesting to see how well they do. Since Blair, there has really only been a centre-right government in this country, that facilitates big business and elites. The Greens are the only serious socialist alternative. Will they be able to get the votes of the people who are socialists, first and foremost?

There are so many sub-plots with the coming election.

I think it's more a case of "impulse control" or lack of.
I might be telling the truth if I told you that you were a "smelly fat ugly bastard" but i've learn't that it's offensive to say those things EVEN if they might be true.
It's not that difficult and it's not causing me any great harm or even causing any huge problems in society.

Put your underpants on the inside, now.

Political correctness is not about those things. Let me give you an example of how it works to suppress thought and freedom of thought. Although I didn't get involved in the same-sex marriage imbroglio thread, I did manage to explain that I was against it and felt that civil partnership had put a long-standing wrong, right. My simple view is that once conjugality and procreation are removed from marriage, all that's left is a contract between two people. Anyway, for this I have been described as homophobic, and some posters, much after the debate, and on a completely unrelated matter, have said things like 'and your views on same sex marriage are well known'. This targeted commentary makes people uncomfortable and reluctant to think for themselves. Similarly, people are labeled as racists if they communicate their belief that immigration is out of control and needs reform, sooner than later. It's not about calling people names MrGonGong, or saying they are smelly to their face. It's about corralling people into a leftist world-view.

People might take you more seriously if you stopped going on about this "leftist / rightists" crap.

You are unable to respond to the point I make, you know it's right.

Actually it's not right at all
but you seem stuck in this "left/right" nonsense

Demanding the freedom to insult is all very well if you can be sure that everyone is robust

                    It was an oblique point.

Well you've called me (and others) many things that aren't true so another won't make much difference! You know little more about me than that woman in Rochester. She may well be in a minority within her particular area and may feel that nobody bothers about her concerns.

You have clearly demonstrated here that you, at least, couldn't care less about her concerns, and such dismissive attitudes are precisely the reason UKIP are riding so high in the polls!.

Can't begin to imagine why. Oh - maybe it's because you believe that because someone is gay, they should have less rights than people who are not gay. Simple, really.

... which they almost certainly are, if they believe the crap spouted UKIP and the tabloid press (assuming they can read at least a little)
