What? By the UK Pasport Office? Quite what sort of a pig's ear might you suppose they'd make of doing that, given the grave shortcomings that have been exposed in their recent past history? - and, for that matter, who would pay for them to do this and, once again, who would fund and conduct the rafts of litigation that would arise therefrom?

Cameron thinks we're silly. His 'deal' mit Merkel, ua, means we lose our promised rebate next year and the net position remains 1.7 billion, but paid over 2 years, without the interest charge.

This has taken 2 years off his life and he's looking older and greyer by the minute - running to stand still.

It's going to be a fun general election.

UK owes the money, no-one disputes that. Gideon has arranged a deferred repayment as any stockbroker or financial advisor worth his/her salt would advise.

              Nothing silly about that.

Silly is Roger Helmer, outspoken UKIP MEP, visiting a Lutterworth passion palace for some R&R.

Chancellor George Osborne's claim to have halved the UK's £1.7bn EU budget surcharge is challenged by his EU counterparts.

What a cop out! Haven't got the balls to tell 'em we don't owe a penny. Just because our economy has performed better than Germany's and France's. They think it's legit to get a rebate for poor performance, when we're fined for managing the economy well?

                    Get lost!!

HeHe, Osborne DOES think we're stupid!

Rogered in the Gary for £1.7 Billion!

The chancellor defends his claim that the UK's £1.7bn EU budget surcharge had been halved, after he was accused of "smoke and mirrors".

Frankly, I doubt very much that he cares two hoots whether "we" (whoever that might be) are "stupid" or not!

He does, they're not the nasty party anymore. The UKIP is, they're the ones that don't care a number of hoots.

To be fair, it's not UKIP that have made the excuses about the payment or the attempted justification for having "negotiated" a more "advantageous" one; also, I'm not sure that the perception that the Tories are no longer the "nasty party" would hold quite as much water as you appear to believe.

Indeed. Being a multi-millionaire career 'politician' it is of no consequence to him whatsoever, the lot of the 'unwashed'

Talking of personal care - GO really should do something about the hair, and while he's at it, the funeral parlour pallor. Or is the embalmed look intentional?
