i'm not a big fan of recent " labour " governments, but like most people out here in the real world, I value the truth.

      And here it is.

All broadly similar under the red and blue tories till the banking crisis. And then.......

Government borrowing under was broadly similar under labour and tory governernments, over the long term, until the bank crisis kicked in.

            This is a fact.

You do understand the core reason behind 'the shambles' as you put it, don't you?

Does the term 'banking crisis' ring any bells?

Lots of cross-posting with teams & MrGG I see - apologies.

Well, what about the new Whigs, then? There's a paragraph about them in http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/...s-9818358.html and my own (Conservative) MP was interviewed about this on this morning's Today on R4 (well, he is a biographer of Edmund Burke). So, what shall it be, then? - Tories and Labour each struggling to maintain their positions as the "main" parties, followed by SNP (for whom less than 1 in 10 of the UK electorate can vote anyway) and then UKIP, the LibDems and the new Whigs in any order you care to choose, + the Greens and all the others; majority, anyone? - not a chance!

                  Now, don't be silly!

We all know that you and your like-minded chums would have been screeching from the forum rooftops about economic incompetence if the Tories had been in power and had left the country in such a parlous state.

That would have been a 'banker bet' if ever there was one ... :-)

But is it one dear old Scotty-Tipps recognises? He has an interesting relationship with facts - it's only a fact if he says it is. Must be something to do with his early education - you know, 'Give me a child until he is seven ...'

Cameron (and the coalition, tbf) may have done a good job in managing the economy in difficult times BUT, he's definitely in trouble on his UKIP strategy

Maybe the tories should ditch him, now.

Do you have a recommendable replacement in mind?
