As I understand it Tory High Command is throwing its weight behind stopping Reckless being re-elected. Should this be a successful strategy, I envisage a lot of startled squawking as several other Tory bampots return to their roost.

      - replace "British" with "German" and what does that sound like?
British or German, it sounds perfect. Why would anyone not want this? I don't see what your point is about this 'German' thing?

I don't think (even though you probably do) they include many of the musics you are keen on
So does this "overarching" culture include what goes on at Cafe Oto ?
        Or
        Drum and Bass

        and so on

What about "moorish dancing" which got a new name a while ago ?

I don't think that governments really have much bearing on any of this. There will always be Cafe Otos, Sex Pistols, Vivian Stanshalls, and so on.

They are very different. But not on things that don't concern them. If you're tired and piling up the zeds, go to bed ;-)

Don't or won't? It looks as plainly obvious to me - and, I'm sure, to many others - as it possibly could do.

You seem to be the self-appointed expert in all this. I'll leave it to you, to tell me - if it's all the same with you.

                      yeah right
I'm just puzzled about what they mean by "British Culture"
surely you must have had a chat about it ?

And you've been telling us all this time that you are a devoted republican ... Mr Clegg has absolutely nothing on your own sheer brazenness, Your Highness!

Certainly, your second point strikes one as being rather snobby and elitist no doubt so typical of the Ancienne Aristocratie Française, I have to say.

Even though I vehemently oppose what I consider to be their quaint 19th Century views on Europe, and some other eccentric utterances and behaviour, there is absolutely no reason to believe that a UKIP supporter is any less able to appreciate the pure joys of Stockhausen than, say, a raving 21st Century liberal-anarchist, Sir!

Finally, in my own admittedly limited experience, Arbroath has never looked particularly 'lovely', even in those very rare moments when the sun occasionally pokes his/her head out from the mire to swiftly check if it has got any better ...

UKIP tantalise with Nigel's offer to prop-up a minority Conservative government - the price being an in-out referendum on Europe.

Douglous Carswell likens the Conservative party to the way HMV retailed music - a defunct model.

The 2015 general election gets more interesting by the day.

I see Douglas is now following his new master's lead and clearly has been practising in front of the mirror.

And to think he looked so serious and miserable when he was a Tory ...

Hopefully, Nigel will make any propping up of a minority Conservative government, conditional on Cameron resigning as leader.

And trying to campaign for who in his place? - as though the identity of the Tory leader would make a blind bit of difference to UKIP? There are far too many possibilities as to whom might, alone or in conjunction with othes, "prop up" any minority government and, if the LibDems can somehow contrive to extricate themselves from their current parlous situation by the time of the next General Election, a four-party race will render a raft of indecisiveness and instability all the more likely. Let's not forget in all of this that it doesn't necessarily follow that any single minority party would be able to "prop up" a much more widely supported party to the extent of ensuring an overall majority in coalition with it.
