It getting worse for Cameron.
Two weeks ago he was proud to announce that he'd 'lowered the EU's annual budget'. The EU have announced that they will reverse the cuts, and require EU members to cough up an additional 4 billion Euros each to keep the bloated European old boys club going!!
And it gets even worse. The EU is now asking Britain to contribute an additional 2 billion Euros, because our economy is 'doing well'!!??? Cameron is squealing that he won't pay it!!!!
And it gets even worse still, France will get a rebate of 801 million pounds with Germany getting a rebate of 601 million pounds, because their economies haven't done so well in recent months!!!
Britain is being punished for economic success and France and Germany are being rewarded for failure!!!!
The EuroFanatic Clegg will no doubt be quiet about this - no knowing what Cameron's going to say about it all.

Two things to say about this:
1. That the reported increase in the UK's 'growth' has been affected by the government's new methodology for calculating it. So, just how much does this contribute to the picture of 'Booming Britain'?
2. The Commission report was leaked at this point - the finance ministers have agreed to talks with the UK about the size of the demand - but it's pretty good timing for the byelection on 20 November. The Telegraph agrees that the expected payments for several countries are based on 'freak' situations. Something that the EU has to put right. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Well, it remains to be seen what happens about this amount of money announced as being demanded by early December, but the outcomes will surely be no less than interesting. Britain is not alone in resisting such a demand or having reservations about such demands - the prospect of nation against EU nation looks well less than welcome...
