Didn't that part suit Gideon better?

Proving, perhaps, that two Eds aren't better than one...

I didn't watch so cannot comment.

If the UK Parliament's principal value is that of entertainment, it's no wonder that we're in such a mess! - and if that's insufficient evidence, one has only to remember one of those Ed's recent conference revelations of Deficit Attention Disorder...

He might well do that provided that he (the school bully, that is) was wearing school uniform at the time.

Jest not. Even some Tory MPs call Cameron "Flashman".

Is that euphemism for upstanding member of the ruling class?

The UKIP have 400 prospective parliamentary candidates in place, with another 120 in the pipeline before Xmas.

                    The Greens currently have 150.

Interestingly, The Pirate Party have 2 PPCs. I was convinced that they'd only have 1.

It's going to be an entertaining 2015 general election!

It's going to be interesting to see how many self destruct in a Strangelove stylee before the election

That's not interesting. BBC2 is interesting.

That's for sure. The more the merrier. Also I'm getting fed up with explaining wearily to my continental friends and acquaintances why so much attention is being paid to an motley crew of clowns, bigots and opportunists led by an ex-stockbroker faux-man-of-the-people in British politics these days. The sooner they all decide to spend more time with their families the better.

"As an online discussion grows, the probability of a divertion involving Nigel or the UKIP is high" — that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Nigel or the UKIP, our simply rabbit on about them.
It's probably as much to do with your presence as relevance or otherwise of the topic. Just an observation - please ignore.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

                              I have similar experiences
I had to explain at length to some Scottish students that
NO, in spite of what you might see or hear on the BBC most English people are NOT members of UKIP
                              and
NO, the vast majority of your peer group in England haven't become racists wanting to chase out immigrants with burning torches, that's just a good story
                              and
NO, the Kippers are NOT a "peoples party" at all, just more Tory than the Tories
                              and
NO, It's NOT a Theremin on Good Vibrations no matter what Stephen Fry might have said on TV !
