I didn't introduce the off-topic 'Scottish' bit to this thread though I'd be dishonest if I said that when the word 'inventions' is mentioned it's not one of the first words that spring to mind ...

The indefatigable Mr GongGong got in first ... so blame him ... if you have the nerve! :-)

Exactly ... so why post about someone you've 'never heard of and doesn't sound Islamic' on a thread about Muslim inventions?

One must be logical and consistent if only in an effort to avoid inevitable accusations of gross humbuggery, ahinton!

Well, I certainly didn't either, but at least you ran with it...

Nerves don't come into it; I was responding specifically to one post from you.

For no other reason than to point out, in response to your post, that the said person is unknown to me and doesn't sound Islamic (note the topic)...

Which "one"? And what kind of buggery is it that requires its practitioners to hum 144 times while involved therein?

I was in Scotland at the time
before the referendum (remember that ?) and there were loads of things in the press about how Scotland was the origin of more or less EVERYTHING
SO, a bit like the members of CANOE suggested that maybe this was the case

              SO what ... ?

You are the one originally to blame for poor ahinton's (and amateur51's) off-topic distress, Mr GongGong, so no excuses please!

              Anyway, shouldn't it be 'Thesari' ... ?

That might depend on the particular Thesaurus to which the poster has recourse...

I hope that you didn't pay for it, then.

Or, to put it another way, does it get collected weekly, fortnightly or only when the local refuse technicians feel like doing so?(!)...
