Excellent, you are most welcome, visualnickmos ... but do remember to bring your own tea-bag as there will be absolutely no pretence on my part!

OK - you provide the biscuits, then! Deal?

                Sound logic, ahinton!

If some of your posts are anything to go by the egg would have landed well wide of the target, anyway ... ? <winkeye>

I'm no cricketer and it would have depended on the closeness of proximity of Mr Paisley at the time but, as my posts are something by which to go (otherwise I'd not bother to submit them); I can assure you that it would indeed have arrived at its intended destination and with all the velocity that I could muster - hopefully sufficient to induce shell-shock; however, as I have indicated, it would have been a crass waste of a good egg on a bad one and, whilst we all know that one cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs, the prospect of omelette au Paisley would have been too sickening even to contemplate, let alone induce. Anyway, enough said; since one ought not to speak (or write) ill of the dead, I should perhaps refrain from further comment on the grounds that Mr Paisley is new laid.

It does seem odd, though, that the members who insist that the late Doctor remained a bigot to the end are the very ones applauding a good friend of MrGongGong who somehow managed to land an egg on his (the late Doctor's) famously large frame. Ahhh, the admirable tolerance and skilful debating points of the self-styled liberal and all-embracing inclusive ones!
More a matter of "Gloria in egg shell", sis.

Ooh, your transliteration cannot hide that this is nasty Latin stuff! Can't have goodly Protestants having truck with that kind of thing! Still, it was an amusing yolk of yours, though - and one may presume that he who Paisley piper calls le tune (provided that it's for Protestant hymnal use only, of course). Come to think of it, thought, attempted associations between Protestant bigotry and eggs are wholly inappropriate, as Pope Benedict would surely have agreed - an inappropriateness that is arguably well illustrated by the awful Onward Christian Soldiers...

Anyway, enough, as I said earlier (and then wrote yet more eggregious egglesiological stuff)...

Somehow I don't think that you'll need to exercise more than a modicum of your powers of persuasion...

Why not? They can't touch you for libel or slander. Not my invention - just the law (so it must be ok!!!! )

Does anyone remember some awful raucous ranting Northern Irish "Dr" - a reverend, I believe he was....
