Visual ... I do not intend to fall into your trap and then swiftly be accused of being 'racist'!

I could turn that on its head and ask whether you would have started a similar thread if some obscure foreign opera singer had ranted against white people or heterosexuals?

We have both made our positions perfectly clear. We are not going to agree on the matter and I'm now happy to leave it at that with no hard feelings whatsoever.

Plenty of examples via a simple Google search - unless you insist that the ranters must be all foreign opera singers to qualify! <smiley>

You'll really have to try a little harder than that to appear credible, madam ...

Referring to your message #168, jean was asking what search term you used.

                Simples.

It's not in the nature of a question to be either credible or incredible. Answers are another matter.

What would one be/is one looking for a search term of?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I think PG tips has made his position quite clear, by NOT making it clear, if you see what I mean!

I ask a simple question and get accused of setting a trap! Why can't he make his true position clear? Surely that is the whole point of debate.

I think his complete lack of having the courage of his own convictions speaks volumes.

Yes - if an obscure opera singer had made such an aggressive attack on heterosexuals or white people, I most certainly would have started the thread on the basis that there is no place whtatsoever for targeting any other human beings for not being the same as the 'attacker' However, I think if such an 'attack' were to be made it is highly unlikely to be picked up by the media in the first place - regrettably.

Strange thing, I have asked questions on here in an attempt to cut to the chase, endeavouring to really gauge exactly what is going on, and time after time they are not answered, but met with a paltry excuse for non-engagement. Extraordinary. But it speaks for itself.

One would be looking for a search term that would throw up instances of rants against white people or heterosexuals.

The omission of any verb from the statement plenty of examples via a simple Google search leaves us to guess whether the writer had found such instances, or merely thought they might if they tried.

                        My question assumes the former.

I doubt there are 'plenty' of examples, but the search terms "rant anti-white' show an incident this year involving Spike Lee. Other examples aren't parallels because where a member of a persecuted minority is 'ranting' against the majority, it's clearly not purely racist (&c.) - it's an angry outburst about the way that minority (in general or individually) has been treated by the majority.

I was a bit loathe to carry on with this discussion due to obvious sensitivities on the Forum. However ....

French Frank has got the general idea of where to find the demanded 'examples' but, of course, what constitutes a 'rant' can be a very subjective thing. I wouldn't myself describe the opera singer's outburst simply as a 'rant', rather a volley of disgusting obscenities. I thought I'd made myself perfectly clear about that and would urge the member who appears to think otherwise to read my posts carefully and observe what is actually there in print. There is an obvious 'freedom of speech' issue here too and I've also made my view very clear on that as well . It may be right, it may be wrong, but it's my view ...

The opera singer has since had her contract terminated by Opera Australia, or at least it now won't be renewed.

Is there really that much left to say about the matter?

So your assertion that there were plenty of examples was a guess? Poor show.

I have a question, are you all actually heterophobic? Or do you just hate the ones that are assholes, because that's what seems logical (forgive me I want to get this straight) I can’t speak for...
