Sexist stuff is all around us, as is lots of other -ist stuff.
Much of it is fostered by those with powerful interests to divert attention from what the vast majority of us REALLY need, which is identification with a class struggle.

We ALL suffer from the artificial shortages of work, housing, transport etc, as well as diminishing wages and pensions. Those things originate from those at the top.

        Possibly

Unlike "Rumsteack" - one of the most ludicrous words in French https://www.google.co.uk/images?hl=e...w&ved=0CB4QsAQ

Although being a 'Rosbif' (one of the other most ludicrous words <yikes>) it's not totally irrelevant...

Not all -ist stuff is necessarily suspect. You can be a HIPPist or a traditionalist without facing a legal challenge.

Yes, I know, but I couldn't resist posting that anyway!

Because you're not an "interesting relic" of anything, jean! Interesting, of course, but...

I thought that "Ave" was supposedly pronounved "Oy-Vay" but one learns something new every day...

Being an apologist can get you into trouble, if you overdo it.

You don't want to fall into that trap, and end up being a Trappist.

Incidentally, on the rare occasions that I read a "newspaper", i find that the biggest improvement over the years has been the introduction of those little photos of the jourmalists.

I Wonder if london photo booths have a "broadsheet journalist" setting ?
