In fact, as I mentioned prior to the election, I voted Plaid. It was a tactical vote as it seemed certain UKIP or perhaps (but it seermed unlikely) Labour would gain a second seat, and Plaid would lose theirs. In the end there was no change here, (1 Con, 1 Lab, 1 UKIP and 1 Plaid) What is worrying, and having studied the results from each area, Labour only pipped the Kippers by 0.2% and in the Valleys of S. Wales, the traditional Labout stronghold, a miserly turnout of 27% - where are the party faithfuls - and Kippers nearly taking it in Merthyr and Blaina. Even The Vale of Glamorgan - the most Conservative place on earth - voted them into first place.

(As to the B*P vote collapsing and N. Griffin losing his Manchester seat, those votes went to UKIP and, on Sunday morning, roving reporter on tv in Essex asking why people had voted for them lots said it was because B*P weren't standing in their area, others seemed to have no idea why they voted but that it would now end immigration immediately. Honestly I do despair of some people.)
The UKIP nearly came top in Wales. Obviously the Welsh have taken to Nigel.

Weren't you against tactical voting, on principle?

I think the whole Welsh Nation have gone temporarily twp!!
No, I'm not against tactical voting, I said before the election I'd be doing that to stop the Kippers getting a second seat.

        The turnout was 34.19%
which means that more people wanted something else or couldn't give a toss
When politicians stop pretending that they somehow have support of most people and start to behave with a little humility then we might start to get somewhere ! (though i'm not holding my breath)

I was under the impression that in Wales, as in the rest of the UK, the vast majority voted for other parties.

Well, if it comes down to figures: Although Ukip came first in the Euros, the turnout was just 33.8% overall in the UK. Millions of people voted for Farage's party, but in percentage terms, it was only about 9% of the voting population. The turnout was even lower than the last European elections, so experts warn against trying to translate these results into a prediction for next year's general election.

So I think (and we all know that 97% of statistics are made up ! like the 75% of laws one) that there must be more people in the UK with at least 10 versions of Eine Alpensinfonie than UKIP supporters !
Or put another way, how many viola players are there ?
I would like to see a Venn Diagram that maps Kipper supporters to listening habits ! (I would put money on there only being 1 regular at Cafe Oto who is "out" as a Kipper though ....... )

Yes we did, and the lack of media coverage was shameful. We suffered in the Euroelections from the reduction in the number of seats. I agree about Sarah Ludford.

Even the Guardian puts stuff about the Greens into its 'environment' section.
It was their Environment person they sent to spend the day with us here, though the first part of the article did make it into the main section of print version.

It wasn't a very good article though.

Are you referring 10 versions of me, or to collectors of multiple recordings of the work? :-)
