In this case I do think Beef Oven might be onto something: when is "campaigning" not campaigning, as far as electoral expenses and, much more alarmingly, the state's ability to snoop into anyone's interests when offline, are concerned.

that's why they chose Boris, they like his "jolly chappy" thing

the danger is that many of these are rather nasty individuals with some ideas that are very dangerous indeed
