If it is, I don't doubt that it's more pleasant to imbibe than P.G.Tipps...

I'd prefer to modestly decline, thank you.

There are many who are much, much more worthy of that particular award ... :-)

Don't be utterly ridiculous, ahinton ... my tea is second in pleasantness only to a Double Whisky & Irn Bru.

For you, perhaps but, since the prospect of polluting a double whisky wth Irn Bru is so unpleasant as to put it in a similar class as P.G.Tipps, one might well ask who's being ridiculous...

And to split your infinitive while so doing, it would seem.

If he wants to boldly go there, let him.

Btw, Whisky & Irn Bru - no

                PG Tips - yes.

Northerners drink Tetley Tea, so we don't have to.

I didn't suggest that he shouldn't; I merely drew attention en passant to the fact that he did.

They drink Tetleys beer, too - though rarely together, I imagine; I wonder how many of either or both you'd have to imbibe before becoming unable to tell the difference?

                      To what end?

You might as well have noted he'd used a couple of personal pronouns.

Well, that would be a first.

To the end of mentioning it, as should have been clear already.
