The F1 racing car driver is the one that I was referring to.

Are you really going to vote for a party who is so stupid to have someone publicly state that Westminster Cathedral is a mosque? I think your posts have answered more than sufficiently.
That's not generalising, people do love the Royal Family. And why again? I haven't previously generalised.

Because if I had previously generalised, I'd remember. I'm not a fish.

Now, I have to pop out Harry and do something for the elderly people in my community, so be nice in my absence.

It is generalising. Some people no doubt love the Royal Family, others might regard them as a bunch of inbred parasites, while most probably don't care too much. I was looking at a poll in the Torygraph showing that 43% of British people regard the 36 million quid spent on them per year as "good value for money", 40% thought it wasn't and 17% didn't know. 53% of respondents thought Britain would be worse off without them, a small majority.

No it is not. If some people love the Royal Family, then the statement that people love the Royal Family is true.

Yeah, and YouGov tell us that 72% of the population think the UK is overcrowded, 56% think that immigration and asylum is the top issue facing the country, yada, yada, yada - more fool you RB, if you go in for stuff like that.

Consistently inconsistent. How do you manage it?

It all depends how questions are phrased of course. If one is asked whether they think something is 'good value for money' the immediate inference is that there is some doubt that it might be, or at the very least suggests there is some great controversy on the matter which might not actually exist ...

In any case it's really a 'how long is a piece of string' question as so many unknown factors such as how many thousands of tourists enter the UK just to stand and gaze at Buck House hoping to catch a glimpse of the Queen (or more likely Kate) have to come into the equation?

Here's another poll from the same 'Torygraph' ... I doubt opinion on the Royal Family has changed radically since 2013.

In a trivial and for all practical purposes meaningless sense, yes. By the same token you could also say "people love" strangling cats.

It's not trivial and meaningless, it's simply true. And then, if you go beyond the basic truth of the statement, you discover that most people like the Royal Family, which is not the case with your macabre cat example.

Good heavens, that is really quite interesting. Maybe RB is onto something worthwhile with this polls malarky!
