Do you (and do your fellow kippers) also object to the amount of state surveillance that we have ?

Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, can't move double incontinent etc. She has heart failure. Gets bad chest pains early in the morning and is rushed to hospital. Discharged late evening and obviously can't look after her husband. We get him into a home two streets away. They want £650 for 3 days/2 nights and the ambulance service want £235 to take him there. Working class people on very modest pensions. Clegg and co need to focus resources on these situations and let people pay for their kids' school dinners.

However, that sounds like a very expensive care home. Is there no council social service in your area? Along with education, social services take up the largest part of your council tax. Was the hospital a private hospital which can't call on NHS ambulance services? I'm not sure why an 'ambulance wouldn't be available', since discharging anyone from hospital isn't an emergency. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

All's well that ends well.
I wonder what would have happened if the poor people in question did not have assertive people like us standing by.
Anyway, today will see my last post on the P&CA threads. I joined the forum more than two years ago to talk about music but I have indulged myself in the 'wrong' subjects and discussions, and disappointed myself somewhat!! From now on I'll only be found on music related threads and frivolous matters!

And there's more
Surely writing a lie on a poster (75% of UK laws are MADE in Brussels) is likely to end you up in court ?
(A House of Commons Library study showed this to be wrong: “6.8% of primary legislation (Statutes) and 14.1% of secondary legislation” implements EU regulation.)
I guess if Boots are allowed to sell sugar pills in bottles with a label that has a name of something that isn't in the bottle then anything is possible.
My tap water sold as whisky business is going to make me rich I tell ye
