Very interesting. I suppose there is wrong-minded and right-minded about these things, irrespective of effectiveness or facts.

No wonder Galileo and Copernicus got themselves into so much trouble, back in the day.

      Yeah right
and look what a bunch of fuckwits they are

I think they don't want to sign up
because they want the freedom to discriminate
parts of Lincolnshire are getting very scary indeed

Why on earth do you think that anyone should "join" them ?

The point (as at the start) is what David Byrne said

That's all irrellevant. If they met you, they might think that you are a fuckwit. Maybe they might think that even without meeting you. What's that got to do with anything?

Point is, if you think differently from the right people, people like you start screaming "he's a witch, burn him". people who think and behave like you are actually more dangerous than the others.

          Point is matey
that the Kippers DON'T think any different at all, they are just like the rest of the angry people

(in the same way that the Arctic Monkeys are just another jangly guitar band from Sheffield in spite of the hype)

People who demand the "right" to be offensive don't make for a peaceful society
It's not a question of wanting people to think like "me" at all, don't fall into that old trap

It's not a question of being a "witch" more that we don't really want people to be in charge of things who don't want the access to those things to be equal.

So what was the thinking that caused them to refuse to sign a declaration of which the worst that can be said is that it's not enough?

It is about forcing people to think in the way that you and your mates think. Very intolerant.

And very easy too. Lazy. Sipping single malts, pianos in one's home, children after one's own image, living a very bourgeois life, then grabbing the t-shirt and barking about how non-racist and cool we are.

I'm convinced it's about how one actually lives one's life, rather than the noise one makes.

Making huge assumptions seems to be par for the course

I've just wet myself reading you last sentence

You are talking about the kipper "loudmouth-let-me-be-rude-to-anyone-in-the-name-of-free-speech-as-long-as-they-don't-write-a-song-about-us" crew aren't you ?

Your last sentence has a ring of truth BUT there's a huge disconnect with applying that to the political nonsense you seem to support.

Why is this ad hom type of comment being allowed?

It's unedifying, unnecessary, and intended to be offensive.

I was going to get one of the servants to complain for me
but my man is far too busy mixing martini's and ironing my pyjamas to waste time on such trivial matters

(I'm having trouble getting the front door open with all the "pianos" in the way)

HaHa! How did I know that last sentence wouldn't be lost on you!!? Couldn't resist ;-)

The people you are referring to seem to be the sort of silly-billies you get in any party.

Regarding my 'ring of truth' sentence, as you put it, you would need to stop making assumptions about what I support. Then any connection or disconnection will be more easily observed.

It would seem that the kippers (as with the rest, hence the title) are entirely composed of these characters

You nailed you flag to the smoked mast matey
you can't then pretend there isn't a connection

One of the bands I used to play in had a song with the chorus that went....

                        "Everyone's toeing the party line"

not our best effort I know
most folks seemed to think it was about party in a Beastie Boys stylee :-)

Well, I don't think that parties are entirely composed of silly-billies. If you believe in parliamentary democracy, you have to accept some idiots. It goes with the territory.

I believe in parliamentary democracy, and I'd rather go with a party and get it wrong, than stand on the sides sloganeering. I find that more offensive than Clegg's duplicity, UKIP weirdo's or David 'no principles' Cameron.

The issues that are dear to me are the rolling back of the nanny state, achieving pan-European goals without the bureaucratic gravy-train boys club, sensible immigration, trading with world partners and natural human freedom.

When people speak of 'rolling back the nanny state' what do they mean?

Abandoning car seat belts? Motor-cycle helmets? Bringing back compulsory smoking in public places? Repealing drink-driving legislation? Repealing drugs legislation? Repealing domestic violence and hate crime legislation?

It's a glib slogan but what does 'rolling back the nanny state' really mean?
