Leaving the invective aside, what, I wonder do UKIP MEPs do to earn their salaries? Do they, for instance, get EU officials to visit their constituencies and do they win grants for training and new jobs? Do they get money for research or local disaster aid (such as flooding)? The vast majority of money paid in to the EU comes back to the member states, but if my constituency is anything to go by, MEPs have to work hard to get the funds allocated to their areas.

So what do UKIP members do? I suppose demonstrating that there is funding available for all sorts of local projects would militate against their case that membership of the EU is expensive and useless?
