The salvia cutting has grown, is bushing out nicely and there's even a flower bud appearing. I shall let it flower because although it's still very small it's now obviously a healthy little plant. Will need to be repotted soon. There was even a side shoot that was growing too fast so I cut it off and stuck it in the compost alongside the parent. Don't know if it's taken, but it's still looking very green after two and a half weeks, though only about a centimeter tall.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

That's a satisfactory outcome, I hope they continue to flourish.

Quick return on the salvia cutting, and four velvety purple-magenta florets. The tiny bit of greenery in the adjacent pot was a bit I nipped off before repotting the main cutting. I stuck it in some compost and that seems to have taken too.

Yet more satisfactory outcomes ff. At this rate you'll have a real insurance policy suite - plants outside and one or two to overwinter undercover? They are very obliging plants it has to be said when it comes to propagation.
I had hoped to increase my stock of two plants that were new last year but as I have had to effectively create a container garden on my patio just to keep existing garden and veg plants going I can't contemplate adding to it with cuttings needing attention.

If this is 'Nachtvlinder', there seems to be a difference of opinion as to whether it's evergreen or not. I think I shall treat it as herbaceous and repot it next spring. It does seem to be hardy, though I might try to give it some protection. It's not looking very 'shrubby' at the moment.
