    Round Up

In the light of recent news has anyone stopped using this? We have a gravel drive to Grumpy Towers and my ground staff have used it with reasonable effect over the years. Are substitutes as effective and are they safe?

I use Neudorff weedkiller and have found it effective.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thanks for the tip, FF. My local stockist is also my local garden centre according to the website - I will keep a lookout for it.

Oh, yes - I see that one of my favourite Garden Centres is also on the list of stockists, too.

It probably sounds crude, but the easiest and cheapest way I've found to dispense with weeds that have long roots and are difficult to remove in their entirety, eg dandelions - particularly where they grow in crevices on stone or concrete paths - is to carefully pour boiling water on them. Care has to be emphasised, as neighbouring plants and grasses can also be killed off in the process.

That would require several kettles continuously on the boil!

                It works brilliantly well.
