Thanks for putting out of their misery anyone that need to be so - and, far more importantly, thanks for posting this work!

You know I think [sic] you have actually inspired me to finally leave Airedale after 3 years of not doing so....3 years of not seeing the sea (and for a Devon boy that's sacrilege)....I hope it actually comes off....hope to leave tomorrow, camping in my van in Anglesey....I've talked myself in and out of it several times....but now the task does not seem so insurmountable as it did 7 days ago....and the likelihood that I will probably come back terribly fatigued has even been rationalised (taking 2 dogs camping....tiring)....

Oh, I am jealous! I'd love to spend a weekend in a camper van by the sea, just chilling out. If I were in North Wales I'd join you there (I'd love to meet your loping lurcher!) Have a wonderful time.

We have just come back from week camping at Penrallt - what a wonderful coast!

The best beaches are always the ones you can only get to by walking to them along the coast path. There was one about fifteen minutes from the campsite with seals.

I think we established (in re: new road rules) that our dear 8tho doesn't so much have a camper van, as a van you can camp in... A Merc Sprinter, 8th you said?

Looks like great headroom (always one drawback with most camping and boating for me - I have to go around like Quasimodo in usual camping/al fresco equipment) and no pesky windows waking one up early with all that damned light...!

                Hope it's a great week, 8tho!

                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Sounds great, jean - I bet that blew the cobwebs way

I am so envious of the seal sitings

You mean that 8obs is a White Van Man?? No, that does not fit his image, I imagine one of those retro VW campers (orange or pale blue), surfboard on the roof or bike strapped on the back, cooking outside on a little blue Camping-Gaz ......

Actually Cali is almost right....Yes Hightop , yep no windows, double bed plinth raised so you can store under bed in large placi boxes....very simple galley....but best of all it is dark chocolate brown almost black to further differentiate me from the £50,000 white Winebago types....(wish it was that nice new one you put up Cali, mines an R reg)....The Van does for all seasons, and has regularly been filled with bricks and cement one day, firewood the next, and the next after a good clean up camping....in everyday use a roll of plastic and carpet protects the bed from heavyduty dog use.....(The border collie walks along the protective wooden box on the galley and appears over my right shoulder and drives along with his head out the window)....

....Yes Jean it is lovely there, down by Hells Mouth....(just a bit far for me to go)

Anna....this not my dog, but is very like him....mine has a completely white right side of his face....called Spen (Spen Valley He Who)....he's got long hair on his ears too....(comes to all us men....hair on ears)....

....I'd be honoured to have you there Anna....I'm sure you'd keep the dogs entertained, which to be honest is the thing that is going to exhaust me....you might even throw in a lamb curry perhaps....

Loved the timing of that "afterthought" ... !!!

                          So this model, 8th?

I had somehow imagined it would be a rough coated lurcher, perhaps it's because I also have the image of you as a shaggy haired beach bum .....? People resemble their pets ....
I'd love to throw sticks for your dogs, and there is indeed some Welsh lamb** here ready to be cooked - but a roast, not a curry, you would be very welcome to share that of course! Not sure if I'd be keen on sleeping in a van with no windows - might be slightly claustrophobic.
** A treat as I'm saving so much money now on gas!!
