In moderation, perhaps. Otherwise it definitely isn't.

          Certainly not!

Perhaps young, or middle aged soaks...

You perhaps remember an earlier thread of mine, started innocently, with the heading "Old alcoholic drinks". I was actually trying to find out whether it was safe to drink, or at least taste/sample, some old bottles/cans of wine, beer or spirits - but the ambiguity, which I'd failed to notice, was not lost on some round here!

Have decided to have a time-out and get off the wagon for a short while. Bought some Teacher's at the duty free in Stansted. Plastic bottle! Apparently, it doesn't make any difference - we'll see!

Shame about the weather and the view...

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

HeHe! I suppose life has its compensations

Johnny Walker Black is £30 a litre bottle in the local supermarket, which is quite a good price. So If the Teacher's doesn't work out..........

A distillery which sent malt whisky into space to study the effect of near-zero gravity on flavour says its findings are "groundbreaking".

Oh, thou demon Drink, thou fell destroyer; Thou curse of society, and its greatest annoyer. What hast thou done to society, let me think? I answer thou hast caused the most of ills, thou demon Drin…

Today I have done a bottle of White Horse (I'm on holiday, after all!). It was dearer than VAT 69, but cheaper than JW Black.

I found it a bit 'perfumey" and lacking in body.

Many people have extolled the virtues of White Horse. This was my first bottle, and my last.

P.S. As a teenager I sampled most of the blended whiskies (didn't know about single malts back then) and this must've been one of them.
