I was not! I deny that completely! [MRD]OK, I would say that, wouldn't I? [/MRD] But seriously I wasn't. I went into the sitting room with my food. If I had put on music or TV, the situation would have been very serious, as I wouldn't have heard the kitchen ceiling tiles falling to the floor. As it was, it was a new cooker, a new cooker hood, and two rooms requiring redecorated. (And a new chip pan, but Management banned them.)

Our local independent classical cd shop has a Sunday where mince pies and mulled wine are offered. (McAlister, Mathieson Music in Edinburgh). The pies are baked from scratch by the proprietress, Anne McAlister. These are the best mince pies - EVER!

                        Yes.

I'll tell you on December 8 when I get into gear.

I came across some Ecclefechan Tarts today. I might try them as an alternative.

(I have stayed in Ecclefechan several times, at the Kirkconnell Hall Hotel, on business, the furthest North I have been, but I wasn't aware of any particular pastries connected to the village)

Doubly recommended by Father Jack Hackett.
