      cabbage and lentil stew.

rather unpromising name, but we really like this..
Onion, a pound of sliced sweetheart ( 50 p at Tesco ATM) cabbage, a carrot, garlic , mixed herbs, 7 Oz puy lentils, a pack of chopped tomatoes, pint of stock, S and P, and 100g of Chorizo or Hungarian sausage if you fancy.
Fry the onion up, and then add the rest of the veg and stock.
Cook in the oven at about 200C for about an hour , and then throw in the dumplings.

I do it with horseradish dumplings, ( Tesco mix pack and add a couple of teaspoons of Horseradish sauce), and Bob's your mother's brother.

A great winter warmer, full of flavour, and quick to prepare.
      Yum.

Some Liszt to go with, perhaps?

Entrecôte, thin lamb chops and spicey Turkish sausage. Salad garnished with pomegranate syrup. Organic yoghurt, organic bread, washed down with ice cold Efes Pilsen.

For pudding it's more of that yoghurt with fresh honey (a favourite of mine).

Well, I didn't cook it, Mrs Oven did. But I set the table and poured the beer.

Indeed, setting the table wasn't easy. Pouring the beer was a cinch because I've done it before.

Well, I'm doing my bit again and setting the table. But it hasn't gone well. I placed the forks to the right of the plates and the knives with the sharp side facing out.

                  Apparently this is all wrong.

The upside is if I keep failing like this, I'll be told not to bother.

Sounds like you got the knife bit correct accidentally.

Distracted by all that modern music you listen to ?

Pancakes made with chickpea flour to go with stew.
Chickpea/gram flour a really tasty pancake.

Tchaikovsky 5 and red wine to go with.

Good as a starter/nibble too, especially when rosemary is added:

Monkfish, king prawns and kale. Don't fancy any carbs. Seafood cooked in garlic butter, some dried red chilli and capers.

Listening (imminently) to Bruckner 8 KvK, VPO. DG.

I've always made a dogs dinner of that, Pulcers.

which is a double bad, as we don't have a dog,and cats don't really go for chickpea.

Sounds good. I'm looking for a use for some chillies we dried last year.
