I always, when making stews, casseroles, curries, etc., make loads, so I reheat, maybe add fresh veggies to counteract soggy carrots, (vital to sprinkle flatleaf parsley at the end for a bit of vibrancy), and because they always taste better the next day! But, I don't mind eating the same meal (waste not, want not!!)
I also like your marmite rustique!

If I successfully tout if for triple the price, that amounts to about three pints at Barbican prices.

or two bottles of lager at the RFH.

S'pose those cheap tickets have to be cross subsidised somehow.....

Octopus in authentic Italian tomato sauce (for tomorrow).

Tip: When you buy your octopus, baby ones ideally (from the rocks, not sand areas are best) put it in the freezer for about a week to ten days. This, in my experience reduces the likelihood of it being rubbery when cooked (I guess the freezing process alters the molecular structure or something). My Portuguese mate told me this and he's a great fish cook (he aint no good at anything else, although he's a good bass player (not the fish)).

When thawed, boil it for 20 minutes to get rid of any dirt (assuming you or your fishmonger has already got rid of the eyes and beak etc). Chuck the water and boil it again for 15 minutes. Then do whatever you want with it, eg soak it in olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, chili, salt and maybe ginger. Pop it in the fridge for a few hours and serve with bread and a glass of chilled Sancerre.

you eat baby octopuses? that makes you a bad person.

(Do you know the song " Octopus" by The Freshies, at all?)

                        Hurrah, its the weekend.

Veggie Lasagna tonight, with a rather nice bottle of plonk and some Debussy courtesy of Gordon Fergus -Thompson to Go With.

                        Yum.

It all got eaten, and it was pretty good, though I say so myself.

I suspect that you real problem is with the Debussy.....

or have I broken some important pasta law?

I suspect that 'pasta' has nothing to do with that reaction, it's the word 'veggie' that has set Beefy's (the clue's in the name!) ropes and pulleys whirring to repel vegan, sandal-and-home-knitted-trouser-wearing raffia-mafia invaders...

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
