As it happens I'm simmering sliced up windfall apples - not quite sure why. I think they're going to form puree, though sadly the last lot, made a few weeks ago, went mouldy. This time we'll take more care, and probably freeze what we don't eat quickly.

That , Mr Oven, is healthier than a fifteen storey block of flats, and sounds yummy to boot.
No cooking tonight, had chips and curry sauce,(but no beer) at the pub lunchtime.

Vegetable pie, with a rather experimental mix of veg, and "out of the freezer" puff pastry.

                        Bach Cantatas on the side.

Scrambled eggs and smoked Salmon, followed by baked apples a La Mode.

                          well just baked apples really.

Stravinsky Violin concerto to add a little spice.

I have some plump free range chicken thighs, I was going to do them with chorizo, tomato and butter beans but - I find I had no butter beans. So instead chorizo fried a bit crispy, with green lentils, plus celery, leeks, carrots, a whole green chilli (not chopped) for background flavour, loads of garlic, fresh toms, some chopped green beans chucked in. A really earthy peasant dish. (Love green lentils!) To be had with crusty bread and oodles of unsalted butter to mop it all up.

After some research, i have discovered that those five words can be used to equal effect in any order.

Now that is a rare and beautiful thing.
