    Houmous.

Friday evening. A beer and a dish of Houmous. perfect.
What's your favourite ready made? any good easy recipes for making your own? what your favourite accompaniment?

Have to say I do love ready made caramelised onion with crudites or some plain pringles type thing, (I know, I know), but are there better options?
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

    You don't need Tahini

    Is my suggestion

(but if you do , make sure it's fresh, as stale Tahini is like gearbox oil)

    Garlic in industrial quantities

I think i used Tahini in my couple of forays.Worked OK, but not brilliant.
I'll have to try without , then.

I haven't tried gearbox oil. (good band name though).

Edit: This board goes really quiet around 6 pm. Lots of gin swilling and general troughing, I suppose.

Dunno about 'ready-made', team, but on a Friday it's always a heavily-vinegared and salted Fried Haddock, Chips, Garden Peas, accompanied by Bread & Butter and a strong pint of PG Tips!

I would go for mushy peas, but otherwise faultless , Scotty.

                        I grow peas
but the ones you get in shops are from a ruddy great prairie in East Anglia which is hardly a "garden"
and anyway you eat MUSHY peas with fish and chips not "petits pois"

(Ashvale in Aberdeen is a much better chippy than the over hyped ones in Aldeburgh...... I bet Ben and Peter made their own anyway )

PG tips in a huge FOff size mug goes perfik. Garden peas grown on the Pampas in Suffolk are great too!

they used to do brilliant chips in the one on Millbrook road.
