        No, it's a missus!

She goes to that tea room a lot so maybe I should be worried about chefs purveying nice buns

          I try not make assumptions

So the chef's got hot buns & you're wondering if you should be cross about your missus' admiration of them?

No problem with your not making assumptions - it wasn't clear in my original post

I'm sure it's all very innocent and the buns were, indeed, very nice! I must admit to noticing that the young waitress also had some particularly nice buns too but, of course, I wouldn't dream of saying so......

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

perhaps she would have liked the compliment...

Hmvman is obviously a gentleman ... which is a heck of a lot more than can be said for his 'missus'.

I suspect that things got a little out of control when he was spending all that time in HMV...when the Cat's away....

Well, HMV in York is still going but I haven't frequented it for many years. Now, if they were to sell hot cross buns....

... they'd actually have something in the store that I wanted to buy!
