The spinach is just a way of getting your green leaves, really. Don't taste of anything much when mulched, last a good few days, and easy. No brainer addition, really.
I am pondering savoury smoothies....love guacamole, not sure anout the smoothie version. Food for though, KB,ta.
I never sulk for long. Schumann is cheering me up.

I'm sorry if this seems a long list, but here's a smoothy recipe from the Style section of the Sunday Times this weekend from a no doubt very healthy lady called Calgary Yavansino.

          2 cups bottled water 1tbsp chia seeds ( ?)
1/1/2 cups coconut water 1tbsp flax seeds
1/2 cup coconut milk 1- 2 tbsp greens powder ( Amazing Grass is her favourite )
2 handfuls of fresh or frozen soft fruit Protein powder ( Not whey based of course )
A handful of frozen kale ( yes, really! ) Dark fruit concentrate ( Blueberry, pomegranate or black cherry preferred)
1/2 avocado A few mint leaves
1/2 courgette 1 tsp baobab powder
1 tbsp almond butter 1tsp bee pollen
          1/2 tbsp coconut oil 1 tsp freeze-dried acal berry ( ?)
1 tsp lacuna powder ( ?) 1 tsp acal powder

No instructions are given as to what to do with all this, but I could hazard a guess.

              She's having a laff, isn't she?

"1tsp bee pollen" - gathered by hand from virgin bees at daybreak, presumably

I love smoothies and used to make them at home but I'm not sure how compatible they are with a diabetic diagnosis sadly

Aren't all bees except the Queen Bee virgins? She's the only one allowed to mate!
I've never had a smoothie, I have been tempted in the past by an Innocent Smoothie but then there was some scandal about them and level of sugar?
I wouldn't mind a smoothie of banana, greek yoghurt and a smidge of honey though, but I guess that's just a milk shake!

even without the pollen thing, they are still great, and a brilliant way of using fruit that is a day or two past its best.
My maker cheap enough and does a good job. (Robert Dyas).
I guess they make good shakes etc too.
I may try your recipe, and add some Baobob powder. (?!) I wonder if they have that at the village shop, at all?

They may be also able to advise where Acal Berries may be found in your neck of the woods !!

It appears to be Calgary Avansino (i was just trying to work out the anagram, though it isn't April 1st until Monday )

I don't think I have the gadget to make smoothies ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

£12.99. Mine was a bit more, but I got 2 mixing pots with lids .

turns a slightly substandard bag of apples into a yummy treat !!

as for the anagram.....no idea !

I'm rather worried about the bee pollen - doesn't she realise how long it would take a bee to collect a tea-spoonful? (not to mention the difficulty it would have lugging a teaspoon from flower to flower). And surely it would have to be collected from the bee before it got to the hive? I thought that once in the hive the pollen got packed into the wax cells as food for the bee babies, & became honey.

I've just used an ordinary blender - I think it's the ingredients that matter, not the tool.
