The contents of posh boxes certainly have good quality chocolate on the outside , but the 'enrobed' fillings can be boring compared to Black Magic or Milk Tray.

Sorry Bryn, but they just suddenly came to mind! And Beef Oven is absolutely right, they were in a red and white bag!

More on topic (if you'll pardon the pun), I did mention Topic bars but nobody has commented on them....strange, I loved them!

One of my top 5 in my #3 above...! Of course they were great !!

Here's one of the classic TV ads ("A hazlenut in every bite!"):

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Whoops, sorry, Caliban, I must have missed your earlier post. I share your enthusiasm for Icebreakers...I had completely forgotten those, weren't they great?

Now this thread has evoked so many memories, another bar comes to mind. Fry's Chocolate Cream has been mentioned...it was a real favourite of mine, but I seem to recall that it also had a cousin in the form of Peppermint Cream...the normally white filling was changed to a rather lurid green. It never had the same appeal for me.

Has anybody mentioned Picnics? I think that was my favourite of all...do they still exist?

Referred to in Mr Gg's #125 (posted with astonishing synchronicity at the same time as your #126!)

I obviously went to the same type of school as ami and MrGG
