    "Sounds" it, yes, Barbs - but a decent cook turns it into something wonderful (creamy and with a sweetness counterbalancing the pepper). And if it's a bad cook - well, let's hope the whisky's a good one and in plentiful supply!

      The sweetness of the swede (turnip - hence 'neeps' - here) counterbalances the pepperiness of the haggis. (As ferney said)

      I don't know why people react so about haggis - there are plenty of sausages made from similar ingredients, and what about black pudding?
