Indeed, it does seem that the chances of it turning into a non-runner are becoming more remote by the hour; au contraire, it seems to be a favourite and there have undoubtedly been some winning posts.

At least neither Tesco nor any of the other grocery giants have yet fallen prey to ass-burgers...

Anyway, we've had Leveson, we're to have a Hillsborough investigation and there are probably quite a few others on the go or about to be instigated, so why not a steward's inquiry into this?

I see there's Morgan's Old Nag, from Dow Bridge breweries ("Mid brown beer with a warming smooth, rich toffee taste. Easy drinking with a slightly dryer finish"). I'm tempted. Goes very well with burgers. It's the beefy taste.

I reckon that I'd end up in a horse-piss after quaffing that stuff! It sounds ghastly! As to that "dryer finish", I wonder whether it's put into a spin- or a tumble dryer to get that finish? (or I might if I cared less)...

Birdwatching in Croatia, we spent time in the Lonsko Polje national park, on the flood plain of the Sava SE of Zabreb. One of the features of this area is the population of rare Posavina horses. Over a dinner of carp, a local restauranteur explained to us that, pace what it says on the websites, the principal reason for the breed's survival is that they are highly prized as the principal ingredient in luxury Italian salami.

Lonsko Polje is also home to the water-loving Turopolje pigs, and their principal predator, the white-tailed eagle, who pick off stranded piglets before they can swim properly.
