Beef Oven
I am roasting a joint of pork that I bought from Mark & Sparks. I expect it to contain pig. If not, I shall take it back and ask for a refund.

I have to disagree with ahinton. In my opinion, Marks is definitely better for poultry and bacon. The two are on a par though for beef and ordinary pork products. I don't eat sheep so cannot comment there. It is against my religion.
Handy tip - To save money, buy fresh produce at the reliable shops and all the tins etc anywhere.

OK, so they trapped my father in the lift last week but I feel they do their best and they do occasionally play Van Morrison. In direct contradiction to my earlier advice, they won the Lateralthinking1 2012 award for best supermarket greengrocery. And I've never seen Soapy Bill working in there so it's not all bad!
I eat fish at least 3 times a week and they have the best fish counter IMHO.
Their bakery is still good, and they won the Beef Oven 'quote of the year' in 2007. I asked a young assistant on the floor where the fresh pasta was and after considering the question, she replied "I'm not sure, I've only been working here six weeks"!!!!
But jokes aside, the staff are beginning to look really tatty.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I rang to complain that my Dad was left pressing the buzzer and banging on the door with his stick. Why had at least one lift been permanently out of action for two years? The woman was very apologetic and said that they were fed up with it. Recently, tens of staff have been taken off their normal duties to carry shopping up to the car park. We were told to use the disabled bay even though he hasn't got a badge. Hand the registration to the appointed senior supervisor Kirsty. Say this is Sharon's new routine.
Kirsty, 17, was nice but nonplussed. "I don't know anything about this or where the attendant is but if you say so". We had to do the shopping round at double the speed in case we were wheel clamped. So today we found the attendant ourselves. He spent a quarter of an hour describing to my father how he can draw a fake badge. This, he said, would be the best way for all concerned. We left to the glares of young mothers in the adjoining baby bays and feeling like criminals. More fun the same time next week!Last edited by Guest; 16-01-13, 13:51.
