Is what "new material"? If you read the above post more carefully, you wold in any case have noticed the words "I've just heard, incidentally...", which might at least have given you something of a clue had you been concentrating on it rather than whether or not the M&S pork you were roasting contained pig meat...

Why do we allow such dullards to stay in these jobs?
Perhaps because most if not all of us cannot find sufficient non-dullards (let alone trustworthy people) for whom to vote in order that those jobs are no longer done by dullards.
I have no objection whatsoever to eating horsemeat as long as: a) as I'm told I'm doing so; b) there is clear oversight of its provenance according to agreed criteria; c) that all horses intended for human consumption are treated well prior to and at the moment of killing; and d) as much of the carcass is used as possible.
Agreed on all counts.
Unless you can source such horsemeat from a reliable and trustworthy local supplier, you'd be best to go to Waitrose, because if they do it in any of their stores you can at least be confident that it'll be from thoroughbreds...

Actually, it occurs to me that I should perhaps investigate some of my local farm shops and decent butchers for horsemeat now that Hereford racecourse has closed after almost 2½ centuries...
