We still have half the Christmas cake, but that will last happily as it was well doped with booze. There are a few mince pies as well and a bit of brandy butter. Tonight's New Year Feast is duck with baked vegetables and a mustery dessert which I'm not allowed to see.

I've just realised that I haven't had any Christmas cake nor any mince pies

So why have I put on 2 kg?

A sort of Italian trifle, but I'm not allowed to call it that. It had lashings of Strega in it and was very delicious.

No leftovers (or apple sauce) I'm afraid. However it's in the memory bank along with MrGG's risotto recipe, a huge amount of C20 British music that needs listening to, and some random passwords for laptops, bank accounts and ticket agency websites.

BTW, Caliban, have you by any chance done a deal with EdgeleyRob on a dodgy consignment of smileys?.......
