For coffee making, we find that nothing beats the various machines we already had, viz:

- on the hob ("stove top") Bialetti or similar espresso machines. We seem to have nine of these in various sizes. It's what we use most of the time.

- cafetières. We have three in various sizes.

- a Krups electric espresso machine, which I find ideal for a one-person double-espresso after lunch....

I use my stove top when I've had a full cooked meal. Otherwise, for breakfast or just a cup of coffee I have an individual aluminium drip coffee gadget. That's probably my favourite. Not keen on cafetières.

You could be right, yet another coffee machine to think about. Doesn't appear to keep it very hot though. Anybody tried that one?

& to keep on topic, I've just had a cup of Australian coffee (given to me by a friend who got it in a bookshop in Kirkaldy. I've forgotten the details of why they had coffee, as they didn't sell cups of coffee to the public/book browsers. I think the owner was a coffee enthusiast). I had never heard of coffee being grown in Australia - has anyone else come across this? (I've no information about where in Australia it came from).
