Don't suggest it - Bose may feel compelled to compete

Pah. Don't knock it until you've tried it. The coffee is lovely.

It doesn't have plastic handles like the Vietnamese images you can see online and it's just a straightforward filter, using normal ground coffee. When it's all run through, you can take off the top, upend it, take the filter off the cup, using the lid to catch any drips. Much more likely that the French took is out to Indo-China and the expresso machines took over in France.
Yes! We had two of those, many years ago, probably lurking around in the loft! I bought them after being served coffee in one in the hairdressers! - in Princes Risborough, circa 1970s, we have also had a ceramic jug filter set, an electric percolator, plastic jug with paper filters, an electric espresso machine, fine until it started leaking everywhere and now own a small Bialetti for whenever we feel like an authentic Italian, and a standard cafetiere for our breakfast coffee......

It reduces the chance of breaking the cafetiere as the plunger goes down. Not sure what effect this might have on taste, if any.

Anyone tried one of those insulated metal cafetieres ?

I need a remedy for when you drop the jug bit on the tiled kitchen floor.

First off we just had an earthenware coffee pot and stirred frantically while pouring on the water. Had to be a silver spoon or a wooden one for stirring. We used a wooden one. Then we just waited until the grounds had settled.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
