I find that going down to the allotment a useful technique

I don't think the allotment holder would be too happy

Asparagus only has a short season, why eat it all year round ?

Oh, sorry, it sounded as if you did. But I do agree - why eat things out of season? Although the nseason for soft fruit is getting longer & longer with farmers using polytunnels to get earlier & later crops.

I love my polytunnel it means we can grow aubergines, peppers etc
