Waitrose sell Arbroath Smokies but whether they're kosher or generic ones I don't know. I'll have to ask. I used to be sent Craster kippers sometimes by a friend and I had a very nice smoked haddock chowder last week.

I didn't realise Arbroath Smokies were protected, that's good to know.

Never yet found a waitrose stocking smokies....might have to order by post.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.

Yummy breakfasts for a couple o'days though but, pet!"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I'll check out the Waitrose fish counter next week for Craster kippers and see if they know what producer of Smokies they buy from. I'll also check out the mobile fishman (he's only here on market day), he's the only place that sells laverbread but I haven't noticed if he sells Smokies (I tend to be a bit conservative with fish and buy mainly salmon and trout)
