      When Waitrose have Romanesco they are sold pre-packed as two mini ones for £2.19. The small size would mean easier cooking if you want to keep them whole. The greengrocer had them couple of weeks ago, I didn't notice the price. I think for the extra cost versus cauliflower or broccoli minus any distinctive taste I think it's best to do what mercia suggests - buy one, place it on a convenient surface as a talking point and merely invite guests to gaze at it and talk mathematics!
